Of course, we are certain that even under these very circumstances, those who harbor age-old rancor against the authentic clergy and cannot conceal their deep-seated complexes and jealousies will shower them with abuse.
But in any case, what is not written in the destiny of the true clergy is compromise and capitulation before infidelity and polytheism. For if they sever our bones joint by joint, if they hoist our heads upon the gallows, if they burn us alive amidst the raging flames, if they take our women,
our children, and all that we possess into captivity and plunder right before our very eyes—we shall never, ever sign the compact of submission to infidelity and polytheism.
